long time no news....

It has been a long time since I have made any posts!

At the end of last year we were joined by a new breed, Foster child!

Stephen has been a handful and taught us much about ourselves and has quickly made me wonder what I did before the kid came around!

Shortly after Stephen came, we lost Int. Can. Am. Champion Cin-Don's The Cat in the Hat, "Simon". He had only been with us a short time and we were looking forward to his impact here at Amicus, but it wasn't to be. We still cheer on his full-brother Ch. Cin-Don's Gullivers Travels, who won the first Canadian Japanese Chin Specialty and also his 3/4 brother Ch. Deco's Look No More, who is one of the all time top winners in the breed!

A week after Simon left us, Russka followed him. Russka was a retired Cavalier who lived at Amicus. We will forever miss her complete devotion to everyone. Rest sweet girl! I wish life for you had been better and longer!

Russka's great-nephew did join us in March. He is Kenjockety The Dapper Don. He is a smart looking-tri boy who is doing quite well in the club shows and is a joy to live with.

Spring sprung with much bad luck. Both Piper and Luna lost their litters of two black and white females respectively. Whelping went horribly awry even as things seemed normal. In the end, Piper needed an emergency C-section and spay due to a ruptured uterus. Her lovely girls from her first litter, Mitzi and Sarah, are each co-owned with dear friends and we look forward to their futures.

We were blessed with a lovely litter of English Toys on Cinco de Mayo, 4 lovely girls! They have been a joy and we are now interviewing potential homes. It will be sad when they leave us.

May 30th brought the passing of Diesel. We had tried for a year to heal the wounds caused by his initial placement but alas they were too deep. We had to say good-bye much, much too soon, but I thank you, my heart, for the lessons you taught me. Please be in peace!
